Why Rishikesh? The Birthplace of Yoga Teacher Training in India

This town is located at the convergence of the Himalayas and the sacred river Ganges. Yogis, monks, and spiritual aspirants have been travelling from all parts of the world to study, practice, and evolve for ages at this place. Rishikesh literally oozes with yoga – it’s felt in the aartis performed each morning, in the ashrams by the riverbank, and even in the air of the place. You can definitely not replicate this atmosphere in any yoga studio back home in London or New York.

Here, the yoga training takes place in context – every Ganga Aarti, every sunrise on the ghats, every philosophy lesson under the Himalayas – this helps to reinforce your learning in ways you cannot find anywhere else.

  • Yoga was developed in India – the philosophy has an uninterrupted tradition here
  • Rishikesh hosts the maximum number of yoga schools in the world
  • Immersion in the spiritual atmosphere speeds up personal evolution
  • The same quality training is much cheaper here than in Europe, the United States, and Australia
